White Craft Pumpkins

I found this white craft pumpkin on sale for 60% off at my local craft store ... so I brought one home and added some Spooky Things Decor Elements and Black Flourish Designer Jewels from the Holiday Mini Catalog!  It took just a couple of minutes to decorate.  I actually spent more time driving to and from the store!

Happy Halloween!!!

Photos for November 2, 2010 Card Class - Sign up Now!

Here are the cards we will be making at the next card class, which will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 7:00 PM.  I think I wore everyone out last time with the Reinker Spread technique, so we're going back to basics this week!

The first card features the Butterfly Prints stamp set, which is available in both wood and clear mount.  To get the Blushing Bride background behind the butterflies, I inked up my Clear Block "D" and used it as a stamp!  To clean the block, I just rinsed it with tap water and towel dried it.  (Note: Don't try this with your waterproof or permanent inks because you might end up with a permanently stained block!)

The second card is a variation of a card we made at the 2010 Convention in Salt Lake City.  This card features the Masking technique and some simple sponging with the Pear Pizazz, Peach Parfait, and Daffodil Delight ink pads.  The mask was created using the Circles #2 die for the Big Shot Machine.  I also used the Square Lattice Embossing folder to add some texture.  Next, I punched two flowers using the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and curled up the edge of each petal using my fingernail.  Shiny Rhinestone Jewels were added to the center of each flower to finish off the card!

The third project we will be making on Tuesday Night is a Criss Cross pocket card.  If you are attending this class, please note that the patterned papers you will receive will vary, but they are all from the Jolly Holiday designer series paper collection.

The insert is designed to slide in and out of the pocket.  The little tab was created using the Round Tab punch.  (If you attended last week's class, you might remember we used that punch to create Frankenstein's nose.)  The stamped images are from the Christmas Greetings and A Cute Christmas stamp sets.

Another option is to use it as a gift card holder!

I hope you enjoyed the preview of the cards for the November 2nd card class!  Be sure to contact me to sign up and reserve your seat!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

- Lisa

Card #2 and #3 for Tuesday night card class on October 26, 2010

Here are two more cards for Tuesday night's card class.  As of right now, 7 people have signed up, so we still have a few more spaces left.  Please see my October 20 blog entry for more information on my weekly card classes and a photo of the other card we will be making!

Frankenstein Card
This adorable Frankenstein card was made with the Sizzix Big Shot machine and the Top Note Bigz die.  This card was inspired by a tutorial by BJ Peters that was on the Stampin' Up! demonstrator website last year.  If you were reading my blog last Halloween, you might remember that I made a card very similar to this one.  But I changed the color scheme and made a few changes to his eyes and I think he looks even cuter now!  The gold brad allows the card to swing open, revealing the message "a tasty sweet for trick or treat!" from the Seasonal Sentiments stamp set.

Mittens Punch Art Card

Here is the Christmas card we will be making on Tuesday night! The "winter wonderland" sentiment is from the Bright Christmas stamp set and the snowflakes on this card are embossed using the Big Shot and the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I was inspired by the row of hanging mittens in the A Cute Christmas stamp set (shown below for reference). I originally wanted to stamp those mittens on this card but I kept thinking the mittens were too small relative to the size of the embossed snowflakes.  So to solve this problem, I made a larger pair of mittens using my oval punches and Real Red card stock!  Then I added 5/8" silver tinsel and Candy Cane designer series paper on the trim.

Have a great weekend!

Sign up Now for the next Tuesday Night Card Class: October 26, 2010 at 7:00 PM

Hello stamping friends!  Do you live or work in North Orange County or the surrounding areas?  If so, I've love to have you join us at one of my weekly Stampin' Up! card classes on Tuesday nights!

The next card class will be held on Tuesday, October 26 at 7:00 PM.  The first card we will be making features the Reinker Spread technique and the Fifth Avenue Floral and Elements of Style stamp sets.  My understanding is that this technique was first demonstrated by Crystal French at a Stampin' Up! regional seminar in 2009!  It is a such a fun and beautiful technique for watercoloring.

To do the Reinker Spread technique, first stamp your rose with Versamark ink onto Shimmery White card stock and then heat emboss with white embossing powder. Next, using a spray bottle, spray your card stock liberally with water until the water starts to pool. Dip your Aquapainter into a drop of ink from your reinker bottle and then use it to color your image. I used a combination of Rose Red and Regal Rose reinkers on this card.

Here is a close up of the flower.  Don't you just love how the colors blend together so nicely?

Thanks for visiting!  Come back tomorrow for more photos of what we'll be making on Tuesday.  Below is the information on the next card class!  Contact me to sign up!

Stampin' Up! Craft Fair Booth Display

You know how there are people who have to get new hard drives on their computer because they have too many photos stored on it?  Well, I am the opposite of that!  I always forget to bring my camera with me.  So the only picture I have of me at my craft fair booth was taken with my husband's cell phone and it didn't have a flash.  And I'm blinking in the picture!  Oh well!

Hope you're having a great weekend.  Don't forget to sign up for the next Tuesday night card class!

OC Divas Women's Social Group Card Class: Thurs, Oct 14 at 6:30 PM

On Thursday night, I am doing a special card class for the OC Divas Women's Social Group.  Most of these Divas have never made cards before, so I took that into consideration when designing the cards for this class.  I can't wait to share these projects with them!  We will be using the Wicked Cool, Bright Christmas, Dasher, and Upsy Daisy stamp sets.

  Sparkly Bats Halloween Card

I just got a new package of Designer Series Paper - it's called Nite Owl and it is perfect for all of your Halloween projects!  I should have ordered this earlier because it has a lot of Basic Gray in it - - and I have been using that color a lot lately!

The bats did not photograph very well, but they really sparkle and shine. I'll show you how to use the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets along with the Bitty Bat punch and black glitter.

Stamps: Wicked Cool
Ink Pad: Whisper White
Card Stock: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive
Designer Series Paper: Nite Owl (Holiday Mini)
Punches: Bitty Bat, 1-1/4" Circle

3-D Scallop Flower Card

A few people have asked me how to make these 3-D flowers ... so I thought it would be fun thing to do at card class!  You can use the scallop circle punches but I discovered it's much easier to use the Scallop Edge border punch.

Stamps: With All My Heart
Ink Pad: Baja Breeze
Card Stock: Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Greenhouse Gala
Punches: Scallop Edge Border, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, 1" Circle (You can't see the circle, but it's adhered on the back of the flower with Sticky Strip)

Tinsel Ornament Card

Here is the Christmas card we'll be making.  We are using Cherry Cobbler, which is my favorite red for Christmas.  I wish I could buy this card stock by the ream!

Did you notice the tiny scalloped border?  It was done with the Scallop Square punch!

Card #3 for Oct 5 card class

Here is this week's Halloween project for our card class on October 5.  The intricate raised spider web was dry embossed using the Sizzix Big Shot!

The top of the card features the Faux stitching technique.  Pierce two rows of holes using the Paper Piercer and Mat Pack and then connect the dots using a White Gel Pen.  It really looks as if you used a sewing machine to stitch onto the card!
