Tuesday Night Card Class: Dec 27, 2011

Here are the cards from tonight's class:

I love the layered effect on this butterfly!  Die cut two butterflies using the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die - one from Wisteria Wonder card stock and one from the Melon Mambo laser cut doilies that are part of the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper collection.

Stamps: You're a Gem
Ink: Wisteria Wonder
Paper: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper

Big Shot: Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die
Accessories: Designer Printed Brads, 1" Square Punch, 1/16" Circle Punch, 2-1/2" Circle Punch

Do you recognize the base of this card?  I used the Great Day Simply Sent Kit!

This fabulous kit contains:
■ 8 printed cards (5-1/2" x 4-1/4")
■ 4 sheets self-adhesive coordinating accents
■ 8 Whisper White small flower buttons
■ 8 precut Bashful Blue 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon strips
■ 8 White envelopes (5-3/4" x 4-3/8")

Stamps: Create a Cupcake
Ink: Rose Red, Rich Razzleberry, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Whisper White
Accessories: Great Day Simply Sent Kit, Word Window punch, Build a Cupcake punch, Stampin' Sponges, Mini Glue Dots

The last card is a gift card holder.   The base is actually a Medium Whisper White envelope!  To view additional pictures of the inside of the card, become a fan of my Facebook page or go to my Meetup Photo Album!

I dyed the 3/8" Whisper White taffeta ribbon using a Poppy Parade ink pad and a brayer.  Use a tissue to wipe off the excess ink before adhering the ribbon to your card.

Stamps: Elements of Style, French Foliage
Ink: Poppy Parade, Sahara Sand, Baja Breeze
Paper: Poppy Parade, Whisper White, Baja Breeze
Accessories: 3/8" Whisper White taffeta ribbon, Brayer, 1" Circle punch (used on inside of card)

Tuesday Night Card Class: Dec 20, 2011

Here are the cards from tonight's class!  These are the last Christmas cards we will be making in 2011.  I'm a little sad because Christmas cards are my favorite to design!

I wish I knew which demonstrator to give credit to for creating the a 3D Christmas tree with the Petite Pennants builder punch.  There are many different versions of this type of card floating around on the internet. But naturally, I added my own style and flair!

Stamps: Pennant Parade
Ink: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Real Red
Punches: Modern Label, Petite Pennants Builder
Big Shot: Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder, Scallop Rectangle Clearlits die
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals

This little gift card holder is based on a template designed by Angie, who is one of my uplines.  I found the self-adhesive Velcro dots at my local home improvement store.

Stamps: Tags 'Til Christmas, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Markers: Real Red, Wild Wasabi
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla
Punches: Word Window,  Small Oval
Accessories: 1/4" Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

The last card features the Versamark resist technique!  Randomly stamp the medallion image using VersaMark ink on Glossy White card stock.  Next, ink up your brayer with Wisteria Wonder ink and roll it across the Glossy White card stock.  The VersaMark will resist the Wisteria Wonder ink, resulting in a beautiful shiny background!

Stamps: Artistic Etchings
Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, Versamark
Paper: Glossy White, Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Accessories: Stampin' Sponges, 3/8" Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon

Stocking Builder Punch

Hi everyone!  Stampin' Up! just announced that the Stocking Builder Punch (item 124095) from the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog will not be carried over to the 2012-13 Idea Book & Catalog.  Once the current inventory of this punch has been depleted, it will no longer be available for purchase.

This punch allows you to create your own unique little stockings for gift tags, cards, or scrapbook pages! It coordinates with images in the Stitched Stockings stamp set and the stocking image in the Gift Givers stamp set.

Here is a sample of a card you can make with the Stocking Builder punch, the coordinating Stitched Stockings stamp set, and the Curly Cute stamp set!

If this punch has been on your wish list all season, don't wait any longer!

Tuesday Night Card Class: Dec 13, 2011

Here are the photos from tonight's class!  We're making a Christmas themed gift card holder, a Snow Globe card, and a birthday card this week!

Here is the outside of the gift card holder!  I used the Tags Til Christmas stamp set.

And here is the inside of the gift card holder.  I used the Top Note die to get a decorative edge.  The sentiment is from the Christmas Greetings stamp set.

Here is a snow globe card that I designed with the Snow Much Fun stamp set!  I used a 3" Circle for the globe and crimped the base using the Paper Crimper.

This lovely birthday card features the Perfect Punches stamp set and the Spice Cake designer series paper.

Fall Thank You Card

Here is a tip to make coloring go fast! You can ink up your stamp with your lighter ink color, then go over part of the image with a darker color Stampin' Write Marker. For this card, ink up the wreath image with the More Mustard ink pad.  Next, color over some of the leaves with an Always Artichoke marker.   Since Always Artichoke is a darker color, it will cover up the More Mustard ink.  Hope you found this tip helpful!

Stamps: Curly Cute, Warmest of Wishes (Holiday Mini Hostess exclusive)
Ink: Soft Suede, More Mustard
Markers: Always Artichoke
Paper: Naturals Ivory, More Mustard, Spice Cake Designer Series Paper
Punches: 1-1/4" Circle, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle
Accessories: 5/8" Victoria Crochet lace, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

Tuesday Night Card Class: Sept 20, 2011

Here are my 3 cards for this week!  I hope these cards inspire you!

This card features the Sweetheart stamp set which coordinates with our Heart Treat Cups!  I filled the treat cup with our new Mica Flakes from the Holiday Mini catalog.  Due to the thickness of the treat cups, this card will not fit in our standard Medium envelopes. I recommend you use a padded envelope for mailing.

The Halloween project this week is an Easel Card featuring the Scaredy Cat stamp set and the Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper. I love how this card stands up yet folds flat for mailing!

The last card we're making at tonight's class features the Not So Seriously stamp set.  The use of an In Color Designer Brad allows the Whisper White card stock to pivot, allowing a hidden message to be revealed.  The color combination for this card is Pool Party, Island Indigo, and Whisper White.

That's all for now.  See you at card class tonight!
