Tuesday Night Card Class: June 28 photos

Here are the cards we made at the June 28 card class.

Aren't the wrapped presents so cute?  They were made with the 1-1/4" Square and Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punches and a scrap of 1/4" Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon.  The green polka dot paper is from the Christmas Jingle Designer Series Paper collection which is retiring on June 30.

Vellum adds instant elegance to your cards.  I stamped the images from the Kimono Kids stamp set onto a piece of vellum using Basic Black ink.  Then I flipped over the vellum and colored in the images with my Stampin' Write Markers.  The vellum is attached to the card front with gold brads.  Do not use adhesive on vellum because it will show through!

I am so glad we had a chance to use Kimono Kids one last time before it retires at the end of the month!

Anna kindly shared her Proud Peacock stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog.  I created a little tag using the Decorative Label Punch and a little piece of 1/2" Stitched Poly Ribbon in Pear Pizzazz.   The color combination on this card is Tempting Turquoise, Pear Pizzazz, and Rich Razzleberry.

Sign up Now for Stamp Club!

Sign up Now for Stamp Club
July - December 2011
Have a long wish list? Want to earn FREE Hostess Sets & FREE Merchandise?
If yes, then STAMP CLUB is for you!

Stamp Clubs are a great way to add to your own stamping/scrapbooking supplies while collecting some hostess benefits along the way! We will meet once a month at my house and stamp two or three projects that I have prepared for you, place monthly orders, snack and visit with others who love stamping!

HOW DOES STAMP CLUB WORK??
**Each club is a group of 6 people who commit to place a $25.00 order (before tax & shipping) each month for 6 months.
**Each club member gets to be the hostess one of these 6 months and will earn hostess benefits! During your hostess month, bring a quick & simple snack.
**You are guaranteed a minimum of $25.00 in Hostess Dollars during your month.  Hostess dollars can be used to purchase exclusive Hostess stamp sets or any catalog merchandise of your choice!
**You will receive a free Idea Book & Catalog ($9.95 value) when you join the club if you have not already received a copy from me. You will also receive free seasonal mini catalogs as they are released!

EXTRA OPPORTUNITIES: In addition to the club’s monthly spending, you may collect outside orders from friends/relatives/coworkers or host a party at your own home to boost your sales total during your hostess month. Remember - the higher your sales total, the more free merchandise you will receive during your hostess month!

PLACING YOUR CLUB ORDERS: If you are unable to attend on club night, that’s OK!! Just send me your order via e-mail or phone before the club meets.

CAN I JOIN THE CLUB WITHOUT ATTENDING ANY OF THE CLUB NIGHT MEETINGS? Yes, as long as you agree to place your minimum order every month for six months! I would just ask that you try and make it during your Hostess month since that is your turn to provide the snack for the group.  And I strongly encourage you to attend meetings as often as you can so you can do the fun projects with us!
THREE WAYS TO SIGN UP!
1) Call me or email a list of 6 names if you already have a group of 6 ready to begin!! Congratulations!! You’re now a Stamp Club!
2) Call or email your name to me and I’ll put your name on a “CLUB LIST”. Once this list has 6 names, you’re officially in a group. We can have many groups going at the same time.
3) Call me or email a few names who would like to be in a club together. I’ll combine names and create a group of 6.

I’m excited about this opportunity! If you are interested in participating, please let me know. I already have three people signed up for a club already so we just need a few more to get started and you can enjoy the perks of being a hostess and earn hostess benefits while gradually building your Stampin' Up! collection.

Flip Flops

This card was made with the Cheep Talk stamp set which will be retired at the end of this month.  Don't you just love how the curvy "hello there!" sentiment follows the curved toe of the flip flop sandal?

I used a template to cut out the flip flops from the Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper.  Yes, that's right - I am using Christmas papers in June!  Cherry Cobbler is my favorite red color for holiday projects, but when paired with Daffodil Delight, it is perfect for summertime projects, too.

Click here to download the template for the flip flops.

Stamps: Cheep Talk
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper
Accessories: 1/4" Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon (need 9" length for each flip flop), Stampin' Dimensionals
Tools: Crop-A-Dile (use 1/8" hole punch)

Fringed Ribbon Technique - Cupcake Card

Hi everyone!  Today's project is a card which features several retiring projects: the So Cute stamp set, Spot On Jumbo Wheel, and the 1-1/4" Certainly Celery Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.  We will be making this card at the next card class on June 14, 2011.

If you love the 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon like I do and are surprised to see it retiring ... just to let you know, we will continue to carry striped ribbons that size in the new catalog, but not in the Certainly Celery color.   So if you want the 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon in Certainly Celery, be sure stock up now before it sells out!  Additional 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon colors that will be retired (and are still in stock as of the time of this post) are: Night of Navy, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red.

I am introducing a NEW simple technique with the ribbon on this project that I'm very excited to share with you!  I'm calling it the Fringed Ribbon technique.  I cut slits in the 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon using my ultra-sharp Paper Snips scissors and then gently ruffled them up to add some texture and dimension!  The end result reminds me of a hula skirt.  Let me know what you think of this fun and simple ribbon technique!

Stamps: So Cute (available in wood-mount for $12.95 and clear-mount for $9.95)
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Soft Suede
Markers: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Rose Red
Paper: Certainly Celery, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Punches: 1-1/4" Circle, 1-3/8" Circle, 1-3/4" Circle
Accessories: Jumbo Wheel Handle, Stampin' Around Wheel Guide, 1-1/4" Certainly Celery Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Paper Snips

Here is a photo of the other stamps included in the So Cute stamp set. The images in this set are wonderful for cards and gifts for babies and toddlers, but as we've seen with today's cupcake card project, this set is also appropriate for all ages!  The small cupcake stamp fits nicely with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch.
